Job Description:

The Compliance Manager/Registrar at Metavision Institute plays a crucial role in ensuring the institution's compliance with regulatory requirements set forth by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF) 2021. This position involves leading the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs, and coordinating accreditation processes with regulating bodies, and conducting audits to ensure adherence to standards. This position also encompasses responsibilities related to risk management, including identifying potential risks, maintaining and updating the risk register, and implementing risk mitigation strategies, ensuring thorough follow-through on all risk-related actions, in alignment with TEQSA requirements. Additionally, the Compliance Manager/Registrar will oversee the re-registration process to maintain institutional accreditation with TEQSA.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs aligning with TEQSA requirements and HESF 2021, covering documentation, implementation, and ongoing oversight.

  • Manage TEQSA audit and compliance reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and coordination across departments for submission.

  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and training initiatives to support data collection, reporting, and adherence to compliance standards, including re-accreditation and ongoing audits.

  • Lead and manage the operations of the Registry, including student admissions, enrolment, records, examinations, graduation, and compliance with academic policies and standards.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of systems and processes for efficient student administration and support services.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards in higher education, including the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) guidelines.

  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to facilitate integrated planning and the delivery of student-centric services.

  • Contribute to the development of academic policies and procedures, ensuring they support the Institute's strategic objectives and compliance with national standards.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development.

  • Responsibilities related to risk management, including identifying potential risks, maintaining and updating the risk register, and implementing risk mitigation strategies, ensuring thorough follow-through on all risk-related actions, in alignment with TEQSA requirements.

  • Represent the Institute in external forums, committees, and professional associations related to higher education administration

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or related fields, in a higher education setting.

  • Strong understanding of TEQSA requirements, and HESF 2021

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams is desirable.

  • Certification in compliance or related areas is a plus.
